Workshops generating vital energy for health to be held Feb. 6-7
Grandmaster Jiang Jianye offers Qigong (Chi Kung) Workshops in Miami

South Florida can energize its fitness program as Grandmaster Jiang Jianye holds three Qigong (Chi Kung) workshops from February. 6-7, 2009, at the Ken Shin Kan Karate Do, 8255 SW 124 Street, Miami.

People will be empowered to take an active role in their health care through the practice of Qigong, the ancient Chinese healing art using breathing and movement to regulate natural body energy known as qi (chi).

Founder of the Health Preservation Association, Grand Master Jianye will lead participants through enjoyable, invigorating, low-impact movements that harmonize the meridian energy flow. The workshops are:

Yin/Yang Medical and Healing Qigong
Qigong forms that bring energy to the main acupuncture points and organs, maintaining and improving health and vitality and enhancing Qi. Friday, February 6; 6-9 p.m.

Qigong for High Blood Pressure
Qigong forms activating meridians of the human body to help strengthen the body and prevent high blood pressure.  Saturday, February 7, 2-5 p.m.

Chinese Yoga with Healing Chi
Combination of Tai Chi and Qigong for balance and the stretching of meridians to generate energy.  Saturday, February 7, 6-9 p.m.  

Medical studies have shown that Qigong is beneficial in relieving stress, increasing energy and muscle strength, boosting the immune system and improving posture, balance and mobility.

Grandmaster Jiang Jianye has been empowering people to regain and maintain maximum health and longevity through the practice of Qigong and Tai Chi for more than 30 years.  Born in 1950, he was immersed in the martial arts at the age of five.  He holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Qufu University and Shanghai Physical Education Institute.  A master calligrapher, Jianye has donated to the Shangdong Disabled Association more than $10,000 garnered from his calligraphy sales.  He also acted in movies produced in China , Australia and Japan.

During the Qigong workshops, Grandmaster Jianye will give demonstrations on the different styles of Tai Chi, Kung Fu and weapons. 

The workshops are appropriate for all fitness and skill levels.  Participants should wear loose, comfortable clothing and sneakers.  The workshops are $50 each and $120  for all three by early registration of January 5, 2009.  After deadline, cost is $60 each and $150 for all three.  No refunds after January 16.
